Jeremy Bennett of Lyrebird, Saurus and Santa’s Workshop put together a great lineup of European instrumental bands making their Nashville debut tonight at Betty’s Bar & Grill.

WorldService Project is an English jazz/funk/punk band led by pianist/composer Dave Morecroft and featuring trombone, saxophone, drums, keys and bass.

Nohaybandatrio is an Italian post-rock/funk/jazz trio featuring saxophone, electronics, percussion, bass and guitar.

Jeremy Bennett‘s new electronic project Two.two will open the evening. This is Jeremy’s first show since he’s returned from England, so be sure to welcome him back!

The Nashville Cream blog just posted a story about local noise troubadour Leslie Keffer leaving Betty’s Bar & Grill. In the past three years, the bar became THE place to see experimental music. I am supremely bummed. Check out the story here.

I’ve been helping organize two upcoming Betty’s shows for Tim Kaiser, Microwaves Windows, and many other bands. If you’re on the bill for one of these two shows, I’ll be in contact with you shortly. Rest assured, we will find you another venue.

This may be a good thing in the long run. Perhaps a venue better suited for experimental programming will partner with Keffer. Open Lot, are you listening?

Robbie Hunsinger live at Betty's

Here are some images from April 2nd’s Betty’s concert, featuring Robbie Hunsinger, Prince Howard (William Davis), and Adventure Bomb (my new solo project.) Craig Schenker played sax on the first two sets. I recorded my set, but unfortunately, the recording is clippy and unusable. 🙁

Special thanks to Tommy for taking all the pics of Prince Howard and me!
