Arm thyself for a busy week of show-going. T.I. participants 84001 and Square People Jazz Maturity lead the pack for shows at Betty’s, Open Lot, and the Springwater. I just recorded a pretty phenomenal artist showcase with 84001 that I’ll post soon. 84001’s Tim’s wife is having a baby in July, so these shows may be your last chance to see the band for the near future.
I’m probably most excited about T.I. participant Lawrence Crow‘s debut Nashville show at Betty’s Monday June 28th. If Larry’s open-source laptop experiments on Theatre Intangible are any measure, his Betty’s show should be well worth your while.
Also of note is the Art East gallery opening and concert at Open Lot Saturday June 26th. Not only do we get two of my favorite bands, 84001 and Square People, but also the Atlanta musician Aman Amun, who puts on innovative electronic shows by moving a sequence projected onto a screen.
