Apparently, my roommate Tommy’s new duo project Shenk’N’Groom is playing at Little Hamilton tonight. I found out via an e-mail from Lazy Susan & the Dumbwaiter’s Carl Jackson. Tommy almost certainly told me about it, but my memory lasts about as long as a wax cylinder recording in Mohave storage.
Shenk’N’Groom is brand new project from Square People Jazz Maturity’s Tommy Stangroom and Craig Schenker. Expect drums, saxophone, and circuit-bending. I heard Tommy practice his unique electronics/acoustic drum experimentations, and I can report that it shall be awesome.
I’ve been meaning to catch Lazy Susan for quite some time now. Carl Jackson is a T.I. participant from way back, and everything he touches turns to gold. Rounding out the lineup is New York City’s Nightmare River Band — in Carl’s words, a punkgrass/country thing.
Starts at 8pm. Pay 5 bucks or what you can, and all proceeds go to the touring band.
