On tonight’s episode, we bring you the very first episode of ~ORE~ Prefab Audio Extrapolations, broadcast October 15th, 1998 at SIU’s student station WIDB in Carbondale, Illinois. Self-titled simply as “Prefab Audio Extrapolations,” the episode features years and years of field recordings and audio experiments by myself, my brother, and my cousin, crystallized into 48 minutes and combined with television recordings, dorm-banter, unscreened-calls, and warped-up beat records. Featuring myself, Wess Youngblood, and Jacob Riley in the original tapes, and myself, Tom Denney and (possibly) Wil Bernel live in the studio. DaveX would first appear on the second episode of ~ORE~ P.A.E., coming soon to this podcast. Enjoy.

  • There was also the episode “Angelia” that you did before I joined up. And possibly “Mixmaster Satan,” but I really am not certain. As for Tom Denney, I saw two of his Bakula stickers remaining at SIU as of last week, both at Faner. That’s a pretty long shelf life!

  • I think you’re right! How did I get mistaken and think you came in on the second episode? That’s my brain for you. And now the misinformation will be immortalized in this podcast’s audio intro.

Speaking of false memories, did you know Doug’s Party was actually the 13th episode of Ore P.A.E.?

And how come it’s 2010 and the word podcast is still flagged as a mispell by WordPress’s spell check?

  • I blame your memory problems on all that fancy-schmancy California beer ; )

WTF– it’s 2010, why is “schmancy” still getting flagged as a misspell?! Also, you need an extra “s” in “misspell”. How’s that for irony?

  • Your face is irony!
