There’s a Horsehair Everywhere reunion of sorts on Tuesday, April 29th at Betty’s Bar & Grill. Horsehair Everywhere is the Murfreesboro experimental collective that appeared on Theatre Intangible episode 73, Cuatro Ninos.

Tuesday’s bill features Horsehair members Lee Noble, Stephen Molyneux, and Sparkling Wide Pressure and guest artist Coupler. Horsehair member TJ Richards from Trabajo will be DJing the event. Stephen Molyneux tells me he recorded a new album this past weekend and will playing some songs from it at the show.

Look below for streams from all the artists. More info on the Facebook event page.

Praxis Practice,Frank Baugh, 2012

Theatre Intangible participant and Sparkling Wide Pressure / Horsehair Everywhere member Frank Baugh leads a double life as experimental musician and accomplished painter. Tonight at the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts, his two worlds collide as he opens his exhibit of new paintings with a live sound performance. Take a moment to view some of Frank’s recent paintings here — remarkable, beautiful, unique work.  As the press release states, in the exhibit titled “Stream Returner,” Frank Baugh aims to,

bridge the gap between his experiential world and the world of the unconscious mind through painting and sound manipulation. The exhibit’s opening will feature his most recent paintings as well as a live sound performance from the new album released by Japan’s Analog Path Records to accompany the event.

The opening happens tonight (Friday, July 12th) from 5-7 pm. More info on the Facebook event page.

Frank appeared on Theatre Intangible episode 73: Cuatro Ninos.

This weekend is chock full of concert goodness, including a Saturday house party at Noa Noa featuring Memphis rock & rollers Big Waves of Pretty and new Denney & the Jets/Scala Brothers side project Promised Land. I don’t know about you, but I’m incredibly excited to see what the Scalas have up their sleeve.

Also performing are two T.I. participants, Stephen Molyneux and Samuel Steelman, both members of the Murfreesboro experimental improv collective Horsehair Everywhere. They’ll each be performing a solo set.

Stephen is co-founder of the tape label No Kings, and he’ll have plenty of No Kings tapes on hand for sale, including his new Belize field recording.

A little rock, a little experimental. Lots of fun. More info on the Facebook event page. Full disclosure: I helped organize this show.

Other great shows this weekend: Friday at Betty’s: Nudity, SAURuS, and Foster Dad. Sunday at Noa Noa: T.J. Borden, Ypsmael, Lawrence Crow, and Steven Dunning.
